Bearing failures and high temperatures on the Krupp crushers led the customer to request assistance.
- The central lubrication system was checked and tested.
- Failure modes on the bearings were looked at.
AGREE
It was agreed to use a high performance lubricant Castrol Tribol 3020-1000-2 for the lubrication of the crushers. The heavy loads and the shock loading exceeded capabilities of the normal lubricant and the high-performance product was recommended.
DELIVER
The TR 3020-1000-2 immediately reduced the operating temperatures of the crusher, and the high temperature trips that stopped production ceased. No further bearing failures were recorded with a net saving of ZAR 3,2m per crusher.
