By working closely with Anglo Platinum an opportunity was identified to evaluate and compare the performance of the Castrol RD Patent Compound to that of the competitor Rockdrill Grease. RD Patent Compound is a water in oil invert emulsion and more environmentally friendly than grease.
Agree
It was agreed to test the Castrol RD Patent Compound and Castrol MKII Lubricator against the competitor offer and to compare penetration speed of the drill, lubricant consumption rate, maintenance of rock drills and the quality of the operator’s working environment.
Deliver
Implementing the Castrol RD Compound has a potential cost saving of R10 per panel per day on lubricant usage. The rock drill operators preferred using this product over the competitor rockdrill Grease.
